How confident is the Government?

images-9

Motion of Confidence is a motion of support proposed by a government in a parliament or other assembly of elected representatives to give members of parliament (or other such assembly) a chance to register their confidence in a government. It demonstrates to the head of state that the elected parliament no longer has confidence in (one or more members of) the appointed government, because it is no longer deemed fit to hold that position, perhaps because they are inadequate in some respect, are failing to carry out obligations, or are making decisions that other members feel are detrimental.

A “Censure” MOTION is meant to show disapproval and does not result in the resignation of ministers. It is applied against an individual minister or a group of ministers, but the no-confidence motion is directed against the entire cabinet. Again, depending on the applicable rules, censure motions may need to state the reasons for the motion while no-confidence motions may not require reasons to be specified.

Is a hung parliament democratic?

images-8

hung parliament is a term used in legislatures under the Westminster system to describe a situation in which no particular political party or pre-existing coalition has an absolute majority of members or seats.

Many Australians believe they bring huge problems to their country because in order to secure a majority coalition the major parties always have to do deals with small parties which involve agreeing to their inappropriate policies which most Australians don’t want. From the Australian perspective, coalitions are impractical and dangerous rather than a democratic dreamworld come true.

Hung parliaments are democratic. They reflect the breadth of views of the population. First past the post produces easy government, it is by no means democratic. The Party system is great for back seat passengers with nothing to offer. The answer might be to do away with the Party system all together and have individuals put up as independents.

Who wants multiculture?

WHAT IS MULTICULTURALISM?

Multiculturalism that promotes maintaining the distinctiveness of multiple cultures is often contrasted to other settlement policies such as social integrationcultural assimilation and racial segregation. Multiculturalism has been described as a “salad bowl” and “cultural mosaic[4] in contrast to a melting pot.

In the novel ‘Presumed Dead’, when a CBD site is to be awarded to a megacasino, an alternative multicultural centre seeks consideration. https://wp.me/P1z4yo-n
